The SCOR – Supply Chain Operations Reference Model was developed initially from the Supply Chain Council (SCC) in 1996 and it’s the only comprehensive, universally accepted, and open-access supply chain standard.

The new SCOR DS features the biggest update to SCOR since inception and modernizes the framework, going from a linear supply chain model to a more synchronous network.

SCOR is a process reference model. The purpose of a process reference model, or business process framework, is to define process architecture in a way that aligns with key business functions and goals. The company can greatly improve its own performance by applying it in the designing or the re-engineering of a Supply Chain.

The SCOR reference model consists of five main sections:

  • Performance
  • Processes
  • Practices
  • People
  • Special Applications and Resources

These main components are interconnected to each other.

During the 3 days course, participants will learn the relationship between these different components and how to use and apply them for performance improvements.

The SCOR model is indispensable to design and implement a solid Supply Chain project: for organizations it helps to assess and improve their supply chains, directly leading to improved operational performance; for participants, the course constitutes an important opportunity to learn the logic of the model and the rules to efficiently implement it.

The model is very useful in the following cases:

  • Development of an SC strategy
  • Reviewing of the SC in case of acquisition, mergers or disinvestments
  • Optimization or Re-engineering of an SC
  • Standardization and reduction of the costs of an SC
  • Creation of company dashboards and management reports
  • Planning of the Start-up of an SC
  • Benchmarking
  • Processes of Outsourcing –identification of the processes to be used
  • ERP Implementation
  • Identification of skill models for an SC

At the end of the training, candidates will receive an official Letter of Completion from ASCM/APICS.

We designed 2 SCOR DS training paths, delivered over 2 months by certified instructors:

• Classroom path: 3 training days (consecutive)

• Live Webinar path: 6 sessions of 4 hours each

Upon request, Advance also offers in-house training programs tailored to organizational needs.
