Demand Driven MRP (DDMRP) is a planning and execution methodology designed to address the limitations of traditional Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in increasingly volatile and complex VUCA supply and production environments.

The complexity and high variability of markets, supply, and competition make the use of standard MRP planning techniques increasingly difficult and less effective. Classical MRP is based on assumptions of predictable demand and simple supply scenarios—conditions that are becoming increasingly unrealistic. To align production and supply chain organizations with these new contexts, the application of new principles and methods is required.

DDMRP provides an innovative and practical solution. Over the past eight years, it has gained growing importance, with global companies such as Shell and Michelin successfully implementing DDMRP to ensure flow and use actual demand, rather than forecasts, to plan production orders.

The DDP – Demand Driven Planner program, developed by the Demand Driven Institute (DDI) has rapidly gained recognition. In 2014, it was mentioned in Gartner’s Market Guide for Supply Chain Planning Certification Programs among the top ten global certifications in the planning area.

The DDP program prepares candidates for the Demand Driven Planner Professional (DDPP) certification offered by DDI. This certification is designed for Planning Managers, Supply Chain Managers, and their staff involved in MRP improvement projects or in the implementation and maintenance of a DDMRP system. Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of attendance from the Demand Driven Institute.

Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate of attendance from the Demand Driven Institute.

At the end of the course, participants may also sit for the DDI examination to obtain the prestigious DDPP certification.

We have defined two DDP training paths, delivered over 1–2 months by certified instructors:

  • Classroom path: 2 consecutive full-day
  • Live Webinar path: 4 sessions of 4 hours each

Since 2015, the Demand Driven Institute has introduced additional programs that have garnered significant attention from the international supply chain professional community, including the DDL – Demand Driven Leader program.

Upon request, Advance also offers In House training programs.

teaching plan

The course includes:

  • A training phase delivered either in the classroom or via live webinar

  • An individual study phase with remote support from the instructor

At the end of the course, candidates may take the final online examination, administered by DDI. The exam consists of a multiple-choice questionnaire.

Upon successful completion of the exam, DDI will award the DDPP certification.
